Well Dweller Walkthrough: Full Route to the True Ending
Well Dweller is a metroidvania, so the middle stretch can be done in several orders — this walkthrough follows Gabe and the Goat's 100% run for the opening and NeatPick's 100% run after that. When a door will not open, you are missing an ability; the abilities page lists what each one opens and the boss list compares two real run orders.
1. Out of the well
Pick up the Matchstick, an Oil Vial for healing and your first story page. The Groundskeeper is the first boss; right after it you get the Flaming Vessel throw.
2. The Hunter's Cabin
Find Hunter's Locket (first trinket) and the Slingshot, steal food from the sleeping Hunter and bring it home. The Hunter wakes and comes for the family's home: the chase ends with everyone carried off and Glimmer escaping through the bottom of the well.
3. The Bog
Camp with Ilda the mouse (A Warm Fire), then beat The Swarm. It hands you two key abilities at once. A time trial opens in the Night Garden afterwards.
4. The Drains
Get Wind Ride, collect the three elevator parts, repair the elevator and fight Lady of the Drains. Freeing the frogs earns the first Golden Feather and opens the first of two doors to the Desiccated Castle.
5. Gravenvalley
The villagers are about to burn a "witch" — and one of your siblings. Interrupt the ceremony, beat Lida the Terrible and rescue Egbert. The Workshop and its tokens show up around here.
6. The Desiccated Castle
With both doors open you reach the castle, where you have to evade the Queen without being seen (Hide and Seek).
7. The Lookout Tower
Bubbles with feathers let you fly inside the tower only; three feathers extend that flight. Starsinger is the boss here, and six of the story pages belong to this tower's tale.
8. The Autumn Forest
Solve four orb-and-pillar puzzles (a fifth hides the Doll's Head trinket), grab the festive hat for The King's Cap and win over the Forest King.
9. The Docks and The Deep
Find three gate stones to progress, beat the Creature from the Deep to get access to the water vessels, then take one through a giant skull into The Deep for The Colony and the twins Thimble and Thistle.
10. The Dollmaker's House
Beat Dollmaker's Mirror to rescue Magda and learn Wall Sling.
11. Vault, storm and inn
Escort the snail past the Gravedigger, defeat the Shrine of the Seven Sons, then escape the Innkeeper in Webdrench Inn for another Golden Feather. Rebuilding Looter (Stitched Up) is also a Golden Feather.
12. The Queen's Castle
Enter from The Bog with all seven feathers. Find three pairs of Ilda's siblings, beat the Silver Doll, learn Soar and pick up the Mysterious Map, then face the Queen. Afterwards, the five spirit fragments lead to the true ending.
After the credits: the true ending
Return all 20 spirits to the Night Garden and collect the five spirit fragments (Dollmaker's House, Night Garden, Autumn Forest, The Docks and Desiccated Castle) to reunite the flock. Full steps on the endings page, and every spirit location on the collectibles page.

How do you get into the Queen's Castle?
Collect all seven Golden Feathers, then go to the base of the castle in The Bog.
How do I fix the elevator in The Drains?
Find the three elevator parts in The Drains (Wind Ride is in the same area and is needed for them). The repaired elevator leads to Lady of the Drains.
How do I open the golden gates?
Start Looter's repair quest to get the Golden Key, then find his legs (Gravenvalley), arms (Desiccated Castle), torso (The Drains) and head (The Bog).
What is the point of no return?
There is none. You can keep exploring and collecting after the final boss.
